Metallic Flames
Made from three types of metal, they are (left to right), Corten steel, stainless steel and copper. The Corten is left to rust naturally while the stainless and copper are polished and reflect their surroundings. All are set into a locally sourced driftwood.
Some have asked the inspiration for this piece. I could say something deep about bush fires reaching our coastlines, but the truth is in the photos below. I glanced down at my shoes one day when sitting and saw a pattern that got me thinking. It’s just that simple.
