pondering frog (greg)
This piece is made from plate stainless steel plate, including the frog. It has been and welded and polished to give the effect of ripples in the pond. It is another one of the “Metal in motion” series of works.
The inspiration for this piece came while working with other artists in the Bundaberg region. Using heavy gauge 12mm thick plate, I cut out each layer of the frog and welded them on top of each other. The ripples into the pond are also welds on a stainless steel plate. The comes many hours of shaping and polishing using various types of grinding/sanding/polishing disks to achieve this outcome.
